Green Beans with Asiago Recipe

 

Ingredients

 

Serve 4

  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped

  • 3 1/2 tbsp butter

  • 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil

  • 12 oz/350 g green beans

  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

  • 10 oz/300 g Asiago or Emmental cheese, cut into strips


Method:

  1. Sauté the onion and garlic in the butter and oil in a large frying pan over medium heat for 3 minutes.

  2. Add the green beans and season with salt and pepper. Cover and cook over low heat for about 15 minutes, or until the beans are tender, adding some water if the mixture begins to stick to the pan.

  3. Add the cheese and cover and cook until the cheese has melted. Serve hot.
