Cabbage Curry Recipe

 

Ingredients

 

Serve 4

  • 1 cabbage, weighing about 2 lb/1 kg

  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 1 tsp ground turmeric

  • 1/2 tsp chili powder

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 1 tbsp garam masala

  • 1 cup/250 ml water + extra


Method:

  1. Chop the cabbage into wide strips. Wash and drain well.

  2. Sauté the onion and garlic in the butter in a large frying pan over low heat for 5 minutes until softened.

  3. Add the turmeric, chili, salt, garam masala, cabbage, and water.

  4. Cook over medium heat for about 15 minutes, adding more water if the sauce dries out.

  5. Cover and cook over low heat for 10 more minutes, or until the cabbage is tender.

  6. Increase the heat and cook until the liquid has reduced by half. Serve hot.
