Onion Focaccia Recipe

 

Ingredients

 

Makes one (10x15-inch/25x30cm) Focaccia 

  • 1 quantity Focaccia Dough (refer recipe)

  • 2 onions, thinly sliced

  • 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil

  • salt to taste

  • 1/2 tsp each dried thyme and marjoram (optional)


Method:

  1. Prepare the focaccia dough and set aside to rise (about 1 hour). Oil a 10 x 15-inch (25 x 38-cm) baking pan.

  2. Roll the dough out into a rectangle to fit the pan and place in the pan. Let rise for 30 more minutes.

  3. Preheat the oven to 450°F/220°C/gas 7. Sauté the onions in the oil for 5 minutes. Brush the dough with oil.

  4. Arrange the onion slices on top, season with salt, thyme, and marjoram, if liked.

  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden. Serve hot.
