Sticky Bean
Linguini

Ingredients

450g/1lb dried linguini
-
25g/1oz soy margarine
-
200g/7oz sticky beans
-
2 tsp Japanese soy sauce

1 spring onion, chopped

1 tsp bonito flakes (optional)

watercress, rinsed,
to garnish

1 nori seaweed sheet, shredded
Serves 4
Method:

Cook the linguini in a pan of boiling water until
al dente (firm to the bite). Drain well and coat
with the margarine.

Put the sticky beans with the
dressing, the soy sauce, spring onion and bonito
flakes into a bowl and mix well.

Place the
linguini on a plate, pile the sticky bean mixture
into the centre, arrange the watercress around the
beans, sprinkle with the nori, and serve.
Note:
Sticky beans, known as "Natto" in Japan, are
actually hulled soy beans, boiled hen fermented in a
bacterial culture. Even in Japan, opinions about
Natto are divided between thouse who appreciate its
unique taste, texture and appearance and those who
do not!
