Basic Recipes - Long Grain Rice Recipe

Ingredients

  • 400g/14oz long-grain rice

  • 3 1/4 cups/800ml/28fl oz water

Serves 4


Method:

  1. Wash the rice in a strainer under cold, running water. Repeat five or six times. Put the rice in a pan of boiling water. Boil for 10 to 12 minutes, uncovered.

  2. Drain the rice in the strainer and rinse under boiling water. Shake the rice lightly to produce the characteristic fluffy texture.
