Party Desserts Recipes - Smoked Fish Pate'

Ingredients

  • 4 smoked mackerel fillets or 2 whole smoked mackerel

  • juice of 2 limes or 1 lemon

  • 4 oz (110g) cream cheese, softened

  • 1/2 lb (225g) butter, melted pepper, to taste

  • springs or fresh herbs such as dill, fennel, flat-leaf parsley

  • lemon slices, to garnish

  • Melba toast or crackers, to serve


 

Method:

  1. Skin and flake mackerel. Place in a blender or food processor with lime juice, cream cheese and butter. Blend to a puree. Season with pepper.

  2. Turn into a suitable size serving dish and chill for several hours. Garnish with fresh herbs and lemon slices.

  3. Serve with Melba toast or crackers.
