Main Dish Recipes - Creole Sauce

Ingredients   

  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced

  • 1/4 cup chopped green pepper

  • 2 tbsp butter or margarine

  • 1/2 cup tomato ketchup

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • Dash pepepr

Makes 1 1/2 cups sauce


Method:

  1. In saucepan, sauté onion and green pepper in butter until tender.

  2. Stir in ketchup, water, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper.

  3. Simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. Serve over baked, broiled or fried fish, omelets or other meat or chicken dishes.
