Main Dish Recipes - Chicken Marseillaise

Ingredients  

  •  2 1/2- to 3-lb. broiler-fryer, cut up                                   

  • Kraft Catalina French Dressing

  • 1 16-oz. can tomatoes    

  • 1/4 tsp. pepper

  • 8 onion slices, 1/4 -inch thick                                       

  • 1 tsp. salt

  • 1/2 tsp. celery seed

  • 1/4 cup wine or water

  • 2 Tbs. flour

     

Makes 4 servings


Method:

  1. Brown chicken in 1/3 cup dressing over low heat. Add 1/4 cup dressing, tomatoes, onion and seasonings. Cover; simmer 45 minutes.

  2. Remove chicken and vegetables to serving platter. Gradually add wine to flour, stirring until well blended.

  3. Gradually add flour mixture to hot liquid in pan; cook stirring constantly. Serve with chicken and vegetables.
