- Italian Beef Sandwiches
Ingredients

4-pound boneless beef
sirloin or rolled rump roast

1/2 cup water
-
0.7-ounce package
Italian salad dressing mix
-
2 teaspoons dried
Italian seasoning, crushed
-
1/2 to 1 teaspoon crushed
red pepper
-
1/2 teaspoon garlic
powder
-
10 to 12 kaiser rolls or
other sandwich rolls, split, or 1 loaf French
bread, split

Bottled roasted red
pepper strips (optional)
Method:

Trim fat from meat. Cut meat into
1-inch pieces.
Place meat in a 3 1/2- to 5-quart slow cooker.

In a
small bowl stir together the water, dry dressing
mix, Italian seasoning, crushed red pepper, and
garlic powder; pour over beef. Cover and cook on
low-heat setting for 10 to 12 hours or on high-heat
setting for 5 to 6 hours.

Remove meat with a slotted
spoon. Using two forks, shred meat. Serve meat on
rolls. If desired, top individual sandwiches with
roasted red pepper strips.

Drizzle with some of the
cooking juices to moisten.
