Italian Meats and Poultry Recipes - Crescent Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef

  • 1/4 cup chopped onion

  • 1 cup purchased spaghetti sauce

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella or Monterey Jack cheese (6 ounces)

  • 1/2 cup dairy sour cream

  • 1 4-ounce package (4) refrigerated crescent rolls

  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine, melted

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese


Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. In a large skillet cook ground beef and onion until meat is brown. Drain off fat.

  2. Stir spaghetti sauce into meat mixture in skillet; heat through. Spread meat mixture in an un-greased 2-quart casserole.

  3. Meanwhile, in a medium bowl combine mozzarella cheese and sour cream; spoon over meat mixture in casserole. Unroll crescent rolls; separate into triangles.

  4. Place triangles over the cheese layer. Brush with melted butter; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

  5. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until top is deep golden brown.
