Ingredients

2 tablespoons finely
snipped dried tart cherries

1 tablespoon dry sherry
or apple juice

1/2 cup chocolate wafer
crumbs
-
3 tablespoons flaked
coconut, toasted

2 tablespoons butter or
margarine, melted
-
1 pint vanilla ice cream
-
1.46-ounce bar milk
chocolate with almonds, chopped

2 tablespoons slivered
almonds, toasted and chopped

Chocolate-flavored
syrup
Method:

In a small bowl combine dried cherries and sherry or
apple juice; set aside.

In another small bowl combine chocolate wafer crumbs, 2
tablespoons of the coconut, and the melted butter. Line
six muffin cups with paper bake cups; divide crumb
mixture among cups. Gently press crumbs onto bottom of
muffin cups.

In a large bowl stir ice cream to soften;
fold in chopped chocolate and the cherry mixture. Divide
ice cream mixture among the muffin cups.

In a small bowl
combine remaining 1 tablespoon coconut and the almonds;
sprinkle over ice cream mixture. Cover and freeze for 2
to 24 hours.

Before serving, let tortoni stand at room
temperature for 5 minutes.
To serve, remove paper bake cups from tortoni. Drizzle
chocolate flavor syrup on six dessert plates; place a
tortoni atop chocolate on each plate.
