Indian Seafood Recipes - Prawns with Herbs

Ingredients

  • 2 onions, chopped

  • 30 ml/2 tbsp chopped fresh coriander (cilantro)

  • 15ml/1 tbsp green masala paste

  • 15 ml/I tbsp chopped fresh mint

  • 3 green chilies, chopped

  • 1 green (bell) pepper, chopped

  • 30ml/2 tbsp grated (shredded) coconut

  • 45 ml/3 tbsp ghee

  • 2 lb prawns (shrimp), peeled

  • salt and pepper


Method:

  1. Puree the onions, coriander, masala paste, mint, chilies, pepper and coconut to a paste in a blender or food processor.

  2. Heat the ghee and fry the paste for about 5 minutes. Add the prawns and fry for  a further 5 minutes, stirring well.

  3. Season with salt and pepper. Serve hot with rice.
