Ingredients
Batter
-
45 ml/3 tbsp ghee
-
1 onion, chopped
-
2.5 cm/1 in ginger root,
chopped
-
3 cloves garlic, crushed
-
10 ml/2 tsp ground coriander
(cilantro)
-
10 ml/2 tsp ground cumin
-
5 ml/1 tsp ground turmeric
-
5 ml/1 tsp chili powder
-
450 g/1lb peeled prawns
(shrimp)
-
3 tomatoes, skinned and chopped
-
30 ml/2 tsp wine vinegar
-
10 ml/2 tsp tomato puree
(paste)
Method:
-
Heat the ghee and fry the
onion, ginger and garlic until soft and
lightly browned. Add the spices and fry
for 2 minutes, stirring.

Add the prawns and fry for
5minutes, stirring. Add the tomatoes, wine vinegar
and fry until the liquid has evaporated and serve
hot with rice.
