Fruits Dessert Recipe - Red Cabbage and Apple

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp (30ml) butter

  • 1 medium size red cabbage, finely shredded

  • 3 tbsp (45ml) honey

  • 1 small onion, peeled and grated

  • 1 apple, grated

  • 1 pear, peeled and chopped

  • 1/4 cup (60ml) red wine

  • 3 tbsp (45ml) lemon juice


Method:

  1. Melt butter in a large pan and saute the cabbage with the honey. Add the onion, apple, pear, wine and lemon juice. Bring to a boil.

  2. Simmer, covered, for 1 hour, shaking pan occasionally during cooking.
