Chinese Desserts Recipes - Mongolian Rice Pudding

Ingredients

  • 5 tbsp (75ml) brown rice

  • 1 cup (250ml) water

  • 2 1/2 cups (625ml) milk or soy milk

  • 1/2 cup (125ml) sugar

  • 1/2 cup (125ml)  walnuts, coarsely chopped

  • 1/4 cup (60ml0 raisins

  • cinnamon or nutmeg


Method:

  1. Put rice and water in a saucepan. Cook until water has been absorbed. Add milk and sugar and cook over low heat until mixture thickens. Add walnuts and raisins.

  2. Serve hot, sprinkled with cinnamon.
