Decorative Cakes Recipes -  Basics (Butter Cream)

Ingredients

  • 125g/4 oz butter, softened

  • 175g/6 oz icing sugar

  • 2 tbsp hot water

  • 2-3 drops of vanilla essence


Method:

  1. Beat the butter in a bowl until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in the icing sugar and then the hot water and vanilla.

  2. For chocolate buttercreanm, melt 50g/2 oz dark chocolate and beat in with the hot water.
