Chocolate Desserts Recipe - Chocolate Banana Sundaes

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas

  • 3 tbsp (45ml) rum

  • 2 1/2 cups (625ml) whipping cream

  • 6 oz (170g) dark or semisweet baking chocolate, finely grated

  • 4 scoops vanilla or coffee ice cream

  • grated chocolate to garnish


Method:

  1. Slice bananas very thinly and sprinkle with rum. Whip cream until thick.

  2. Remove 1/4 of the whipped cream and mix it with 1/2 the chocolate; reserve for decoration. Add bananas and rum to remaining cream, and spoon mixture into 4 individual serving dishes.

  3. Just before serving, top each dish with a scoop of ice cream. Pipe chocolate cream mixture around ice cream and sprinkle grated chocolate on top.
