Meat Recipes - Sliced Beef With Oyster Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp (30ml) vegetable oil

  • 1/2 tsp (2.5ml) chopped garlic

  • 1 lb (450g) boneless stack, thinly sliced

  • 1 tsp (5ml) soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp (15ml) dry sherry

  • 3/4 cup (185ml) beef stock

  • 1 tbsp (15ml) cornstarch

  • 3 tbsp (45ml) oyster sauce

  • 1 tsp (5ml) soy sauce

  • 1 tsp (5ml) sugar

  • 1/2 tsp (2.5ml) salt


Method:

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add garlic and stir briefly. Add at third of beef. Stir-fry 1 minute until it changes color. Remove and repeat with remaining slices.

  2. Return beef to pan. Add soy sauce and sherry, and cook for 1 minute. Pour in 1/2 cup (125ml) stock.

  3. Blend cornstarch with oyster sauce, remaining stock, soy sauce, sugar and salt. Stir in to thicken. Serve at once.
