Pearl Ball Dim Sum Recipe

 
 

Dim Sum Recipe - PEARL BALLS

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (250ml) glutinous rice, soaked in cold water for 1 hour

  • 1lb (450g) boneless pork with little fat

  • 2 tsp (10ml) ginger wine

  • 4 tbsp (45ml) light soy sauce

  • 1 egg , beaten

  • 1 tbsp (15ml) cornstarch

  • 1 green onion, finely chopped

  • ½ tsp (2.5ml) sugar

  • ½ tsp (2.5ml) salt

  • ¼ tsp (1ml) white pepper


 

 Method:   

  1. Drain rice and Combine pork with remaining ingredients. Shape into 20 balls with wet hands.  

  2. Roll each ball in rice until well coated. Arrange on two heatproof plates. Leave ½ inch space between each ball for rice expansion.

  3. Steam covered in a steamer basket over high heat for 1 hour. Serve with prepared mustard, soy sauce or chili pepper dip.
