Brunches Recipes - French Toast

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon cream

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 tablespoons caster (superfine) sugar 

  • 6 slices bread (either fresh or day-old bread is suitable)

  • 25 g (1 oz) butter


Method:

  1. Mix together the cream, eggs and sugar. Dip the bread, one slice at q time, into the milk and egg mixture, ensuring both sides are soaked.

  2. Heat a knob of butter in a frying pan. Remove the bread from the mixture, drain off the excess liquid and cook on both sides until golden brown and cooked through-you will probably need to do this in batches.

  3. Serve sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar or drizzle with maple syrup.
