Chinese Recipes - Braised Winter Melon Recipe

Ingredients
- 675-900 g (1 1/2-2 lb) winter melon or marrow
- 15 ml (1 tablespoon) corn flour
- 90 ml (6 tablespoons) milk
- oil for deep-frying
- 22 ml (1 1/2 tablespoons) lard (use oil if not available)
- 125 ml (1/4 pint) stock
- 10 ml (2 teaspoons) salt
- 15 ml (1 tablespoon) butter
Serve 4-6
