Appetizers Recipes - Chicken Liver Dip

Ingredients

  • 1/2lb chicken livers

  • 2 tbsp butter/margarine

  • 1 clove minced garlic

  • 3 tbsp Bacardi Dark rum

  • 1 package/8 ounces cream cheese, softened

  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp basil, crumbled

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Makes about 1 1/3 cups


Method:

  1. Cut chicken livers into small pieces. Melt butter or margarine with 1 clove pressed or minced garlic.

  2. Sauté livers till cooked through. Remove from heat. Stir in Bacardi Dark Rum. Cool.

  3. Combine mixture in a blender with 1 package (8 ounces) softened cream cheese, plain yogurt, salt, crumbled basil. Blend smooth. Salt and pepper to taste.

  4. Chill several hours. Serve with crackers and/or raw vegetable pieces.
